Growing sweet potato slips. Unlike regular potatoes that grow by planting sprouted potatoes deep in soil and hilling as they grow, sweet potatoes grow from plants called “slips.” There are a few methods for growing slips, in this video I am using the soil method. I started with store bought Japanese sweet potatoes then pivoted to regular organic, sweet potatoes from my garden and the grocery store. (More on that in moment.)
